Run Amok
Run Amok's Appearance during the Maze of the heat and Final and during the Fight to the Finish of the heat.
Run Amok was a robot that competed in and won the first Season of Robotica. It beat Spring Breaker in the preliminary stages despite being deducted 10 points for going off course in the Speedway and then beat Killer B in the Fight to the Finish. It tied with Kritical Mass on 210 points each in the preliminary stages of the final but won on account of winning 2 out of 3 events and then beat Ram Force and Juggerbot in the Final Fight to the Finish.
It also competed in both seasons of Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors and in Nickelodeon Robot Wars as Run Away, working with General Chompsalot in the Tag Team Terror of Season 1. Much of the chassis and running gear came from an old 1972 Murray riding lawn mower. It was retired after the Nickelodeon Robot Wars due to the damage to took in Season 2 of Extreme Warriors (it had been rebuilt from scrap just to enter the Nickelodeon Robot Wars International Tag Team Terror and required another scrap rebuild after the first round) and had the original plywood and aluminum Robotica armor put back on.
Design[]
Run Amok is a 161 lbs electrically-powered wedge bot that has a 4 wheel-drive. It has a diamond plated wedge as a weapon and an automobile steering mechanism. Run Amok was first a rusting lawnmower that was transformed into the competing robot itself. It was first recorded to have a top speed of 17 Mph.
